Chocolat Orange [Contains Alcohol]

This is a must order for chocolate lovers. I just take a small bits and I can tell that loads of chocolates is used to bake this. Topped it off with the cream that also contains alcohol inside made it a super rich cake. Don’t judge by the size. I can’t finish that. It is rich!

Earl Grey Creme Brulee

Instead of the normal creme brulee, this one is earl grey tea flavoured. Not too sweet and just perfect for my liking. I had a double on this. A MUST ORDER!

Strawberry Cheesecake

Who will say no to this? No one! The look itself already get your attention.

Deconstructed Lemon Peach Tart

This is my first time having a tart deconstructed. Instead of putting everything into a nice case, this is crushed and piled up. Look may be ugly but taste Oh la la! I don’t mind for that mess.

Black Forest Pavlova (Contains alcohol)

We had the ugliest tart but now we have the most beautiful piece of pastry nicely done and decorated upon serve. Not overly sweet and fluffy pavlova made this one of the most popular selection here.

This taste better than our major commercial brands in the market. It is easy to drink and latte with the silky smooth creamy foam ensure you they are good in making coffee.

The Moon Bar Bukit Damansara Foods Are Good!

Bar hopping are kinda in thing recently. Many bars mushrooming in the city and started off by giving a cheap price on beers promotion. Food wise standard …. pizza, finger foods or at most pastas. I was introduce to this place by Cheng Yi to try this place out.

Like any other pubs, the setup are rather similar with high chairs and tables.

Menu are written on the mirror.

Now this is the interesting part. You see bar that serve alcohol is already non HALAL. So why you still go make it pork FREE? The Moon bar is different from others. Other bars serve pastas, pizza and french fries or kacang. Here you get otherwise. You get your all time favorite KL Local foods!

What attracts my attention the most is they are serving Klang Style Bak Kut Teh, Sucking Wild Boar Curry, Fried Hokkien Mee and Nasi Lemak!  There are some fine Sri Lankan foods too that are served here.

Apart from the normal bar setup, there’s a section where you can get to enjoy LIVE JAZZ show while chilling out here. The bar are having lots of activities for its regulars. There’s an event calendars where you can refer to on what is the upcoming events. Aside events, beer promos are stated and also themed night for for special shows. But one thing I can tell you every Friday is a Jazz night where our local renowned David Gomes Trio are in the house to sing for you. You’ll be mesmerise with his voice and the interactive part of his show. This is what we call Jazz! Not just sing yourself and syok yourself. Western Jazz gets the audience to blend in with their show like they talk and sing together.

Mojito to start the night. Aside from Mojito, basically you can order anything here as long as it is on the glass or bottles.

Canapes :

Breaded Fried Mozarella
Skewer of Roast Pork Belly & Chargrilled Honey Lime Chicken
Black Pepper Lamb parcels
Spice-Fried Chicken Wings

This one would be the finger food range by the Moon Bar. Out of all, the chicken wings definitely get my vote! It is so flavourful and crispy. The breaded fried mozzarella pretty special as there are a dippings for it. The crispy outside and soft inside plus dunking on the special sauce are a perfect combination. However I am not a lamb person and is not my cup of tea to comment much on the black pepper lamb parcels. The goat smell are quite strong which the lamb lover will love it. Pork belly and chicken skewer on the normal side.

Spicy Sri Lankan Tamarin Pork Belly & Mutton Varuval On Butter Briyani (MUST ORDER FOR SPICY LOVER)

This is not for the faint hearted. If you can’t take too spicy stuff, you can ask them to tone down the level of spiciness. Maybe I am a curry lover and I like this so much. From what I observe, only myself lick the plate clean. The rest got some left over as it is darn hot for them. Don’t look down on the portion. It is just right and each spoonful of the rice are filled with various herbs. Especially cloves. We pair it with Shiraz and it further made it more spicy! hahaha … becareful when you try this. It certainly smoke your head.

The House Special Fried Hokkien Mee with Pork Lards

This is the top favorite list by locals in their supper list. After clubbing, many people like to eat Hokkien Mee. It is fried with plenty of WOK HEI and plenty of fresh made lards. The oil used are the clean type unlike many in the city use recycle oil from their deep fryers.

Klang Style Bak Kut Teh

For bak kut teh, the oil rice companion is a must to have when eating Klang Bak Kut Teh. It may look smaller portion compared to the hawkers version.

Porky porky

Trust me. The portion are just right for supper. It is not too much nor too little. The amount of ribs, meats, belly, mushroom and vege are all in one. Just like a mini clay pot version.

Fat Boy Bakes Salted Caramel Banana Tart! Delicious! He can bake all sorts of good cakes. Consistency always there plus the finest ingredients are used.

David Gomes on Piano sing a couple of song specially for us. He is good!

Millesime French Fine Dine Cuisine in Solaris Dutamas Publika

Publika at Solaris Dutamas is a new and fast upcoming gourmet central in KL City. All the famous food eateries like Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee, Ampang Loke Yuen Chicken Rice are located inside its EATZ food court. That is more like a street food selections. There are some bistro to fine dining in the area. One of it is Millesime located at the Kencana Petroleum building. To find the place for the first time is kinda challenging.

Just go to the Kencana Petroleum building get out via the main door. Look at your left and you’ll see the hall way below.

As you walk there you will see a small sign board on your left as shown above. The main door is actually by the car park access area.

The place are very spacious and got plenty of privacy. You may see the faces of other patrons but not able to hear what you or they say.

The restaurant is perfect to enjoy a bottle of wine alongside enjoying the quite place with a perfect companions.

The range of wines here are there waiting for you to choose them. You can get from affordable to high end ones.

The farmers bread and sour dough are to die for here. Baked fresh daily and then the fluffy breads were served with flavoured butters.

Depends on your luck, the butter flavour change daily. We got the seaweed butter where I love it so much. It is not salty and done just right to spread on the freshly baked breads.

Amuse Bouche

Mashed roasted aubergines topped with feta cheese gives you a melt in mouth sensation is something to start of. If this is too strong for you or non cheese love, you should try the Smoked Duck With Shitake Mushroom.

Smoked Duck With Shitake Mushroom may look small in the size but I can tell you the taste are very intense and flavourful. Don’t belittle this small bites. Definitely worth to be your starter of the night.

Gravlax of Snapper and Salmon., Mizuna Leaves and Shaddock Nuggets – RM32++

This salad looks too good to be eaten when they serve you. It may look like a normal plate of salad. This plate takes more work to prepare then that. It takes a marination of the snapper fish for 4 days on sugar, salt, lemon rind and dill. The vege are crunchy and the fish mixed with it are just so refreshing and tasty. This plate must be cleared as a whole dish rather than tossed.

Rustic Tomato Soup – RM23++ – Must ORDER

This is one of the best tomato soup I ever had. This is due to the soup are not just plain tomato soup. There are eminence of smoked herring with oregano oil. It is served with herring alone and then hot tomato soup were poured on top. You don’t see croutons put into the soup since the smoked herring taste better than that.

Squid Ink Linguine with Calamari, Chili and Pesto in Olio RM45++

Chef special home made squid ink linguine cooked al dante and still maintain its moist. Then tossed with chewy calamari and cherry tomatoes with extra virgin olive oil blends all the ingredients and the linguine itself.

Palate Cleanser served after the linguine.

A lollipop shaped strawberry sorbet to clear the taste in our mouth before we move on to our wagyu beef.

Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Ribs with Polenta and Mushroom Ragout – RM58++

Level 6 marbling wagyu beef on the table yo ….. it is tender and not overly cooked. It is just perfect. There are enoki mushrooms and hints of truffle oils were used.

Vanilla Ice Cream  paired with Valrhona Dark Chocolate Souffle below – RM25++

The souffle are prepared fresh upon order.

So when you eat them don’t just scoop and place into your mouth. You may burn your tongue. The right way to enjoy this is by taking a scoop of the souffle and ice cream combined then place into your mouth. The Hot and Cold sensation are extra ordinary to end your dinner.

You can also order a cup of gourmet coffee here to call it a finale for the night.

A little extra dessert that goes with your coffee.

The man who helm the kitchen Chef Patrick Keith.

With more than 2 decades behind the kitchen preparing western foods, he has plenty to offer customers who visit Millesime. He is an expert in churning out continental European food. However he said due to the local preference he localised the taste a bit if the customer didn’t ask for the authentic taste. Not many people can accept authentic French taste as it is very intense in terms of cooking herbs usage. However we were glad that all the dishes above served are authentic French. Every Wednesday, there a wine lunch served here which cost RM120++ 4 course meal. If you are looking for something off the menu and best selling in the restaurant would be chef’s Beef Cheek and Grill Lamb Cutlets.

If customer asking me where is the good French Dining in town, Millesime would be one of the choice that I would recommend. The traffic, parking, ambiance, privacy and luxury are in place. Not to mention their top notch customer service in house where all are experts in their respective roles. I will be back for a bigger celebration when I got project success completion.

To be specific, the restaurant is located at this corner of carpark entrance.

I would recommend whoever that can’t decide what to eat to try out their :

A 5 course menu using only the freshest ingredients every single day at RM200++ per pax.

Bubble Teh Tarik and Mobile Ice Kacang from Sweet Day KLCC

Checkout the photo below. How many of you ever taste this? I can find this in Penang but not in KL. This is the ice ball that I grew up with back in the school days. I can still imagine the icy cold ice ball drenched with rose and sarsaparilla syrup.

With a plastic bag, we hold and eat it while walking. Good news to all who are in KL now you can find a similar idea desserts.

Introducing to you Sweet Day. A new brand that created by Malaysian for Malaysia. It is a best of both world drinks and dessert house that has everything from Taiwan goodness and a local offerings all in a single menu.

The signature Mobile Ais Kacang where it replace the traditional ice ball that I had. Not to mention it is topped with the goodies of ais kacang. The one I had was the strip down version of ais kacang without the kacang. Just syrups. That’s the reason it was cheap. Compared to the ice ball, Sweet Day’s version come with cendol strips, corn, red beans, grass jelly and premium brown sugar.

Even the ice shaver looks so cool which it is imported all the way from Taiwan.

This is what I talk about. The Mobile Ice Kacang RM5.00 (Promotion Price. Original is RM7.50) ready to follow you on the go. All in one convenient cup and hygiene. No more dripping and licking. Taste wise definitely better.

Unlike traditional ice kacang, you can request for the level of sweetness here.

If you are not a brown sugar person, you can go for the Ice Kacang Bandung style which is a mixture of rose syrup and condensed milk.

Next we were trying out the Oreo Temptations Frappe (Oreo Ice Blended).

Fiber Up!

This is another one of my favorite here at Sweet Day. Ever since I was young, I really love to put plenty of Nestum Flakes on my drinks. Here they have it! Ice blended nestum which they called Fiber Up! A cup of this are really filling and tasty.

Winter Melon Tea With Aiyu Jelly

Now let’s dive into Taiwanese drinks. This may sounds new to certain people but I had this a lot when I was in Taiwan. Winter Melon has the ability to cool down your inner body system. With the Ai Yu jelly topped up, it do better than that.

Aloe Vera Pu Er Tea

This is a traditional tea with a modern twist. The pu er tea carries a strong old tea taste that has a bitter end. But with aloe vera added, it has a texture where you can bite on.

Strawberry Milk With Float

This will be the best seller for kids. Kids who love strawberry milk can get everything in one cup. Healthy drinks with a scoop of ice cream. Sure your children will be happy all day long with this.

Taro Green Tea

Green Tea with yam? Sound like Chinese Mix with Japanese style. But who cares as long as it taste good.

This is our menu attack items done on Sweet Day. As you all know my signature Menu Attack is by visiting an eatery and ordered most of their menu items without repeating.

That’s not all. They even have crushed iced desserts which similar to Snowflakes. But this is all created by their R & D department from scratch. It is different and has their own taste. The condiments can be selected and not fixed like any other of their competitors menu offering.

With added coco crunch.

Taiwanese Black Mousse Tea which famous from Sun Moon Lake.

The top foam is salty and the base is black tea. The way to drink it is to take a sip from down and slowly pull your straws up to mix with the mousse. To know more about them, checkout
Sweet Tea is located Next to Roti Boy and Opposite Nandos KLCC

Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf Bangsar Village

First and foremost I would like to wish all my readers Merry Xmas and Happy New Year. How you all celebrate to usher the new year? Without fail foods sure come in to the picture. I had my new year celebration with fellow foodies doing a porky bbq party. I am a big fan of oink oink. Just let me know where can get good roast pork or pork burger, I’ll be there.

Recently I was introduced to a new porky place at Bangsar Village Shopping Center.

The place is known as Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf. Sounds like a story book huh. But this is the name of the restaurant.

The place were kinda hard to locate at first. It is currently not accessible via the mall entrance. It is only open from the car park side facing the outdoor car parks area.

This is the waiting area for customer who want to chill out while enjoying their wide selections of wines and spirits.

After battling an hour of traffic jam before reaching the restaurant, a bottle of ice cold beer to chill down is a bliss.

Garlic Roast Pork – RM16

This is a great starter which I would rank all time favorite for beer lovers.

Garlic Mushrooms – RM15

Fresh button mushrooms sautéed with fresh garlic, olive oil and garlic butter.

Pork Drumstick – RM13

Minced pork stuffed in fragrant lemongrass stick then paired with Thai Chilli sauce.

Pork Kebab – RM22

Skewered grilled pork, mushroom, capsicum, onions and cherry tomatoes. At first I would expect it is served on a big steel skewer or BBQ skewers. But it is smaller than I think. The meat used were lean meats.

Sweet Carrot Bacon Soup – RM12

A creamy soup which resembles pumpkin soup to me.

Wild mushroom soup – RM15

Prepared from fresh in the kitchen by using fresh wild mushroom can’t go wrong. The soup were awesome and drizzled with truffle oil upon serve. Coutons are placed on top make it a whole plate of most wanted soups in any western restaurants. I don’t mind to add additional garlic breads below which more hearty.

Garlic cheese bread – RM12

Toasted french bread with garlic butter perfect companion for the soups.

Crispy bacon & asparagus salad – RM23

Garden salad tossed with thousand island sauce and with asparagus added. I see some balsamic vignaigrette were drizzled on the salad alongside with the bacons strips added. This is a must try here.

Grilled Pork Salad – RM23

Grilled pork with avocado and garden greens tossed in balsamic vignaigrette dressing. An alternative choice for diet menu people. Avocado is known to be quite filling and high in nutrients.

Cold Cuts Platter – RM59

Italy meets Spain. Combination of parma ham, milano salami, serrano ham and chorizo.

The Wolf’s Favourite – RM27

A creamy spaghetti  with smoked pork bacon, topped with a poached egg & crispy bacon bits. Served with a running egg yolk upon serve let you spice up the plate of spaghetti to the maximum satisfaction. Nothing can go wrong with this. It is so meaty and as you all know that wolf only eat meats and hence this is named after that.

Alien Invasion – RM26

This is definitely an alien serving. A long legged spaghettis have attack with sausage, mushrooms, meat balls and creamed up. It is odd for its way of cooking. Since when alien is normal among us?

Piggy bolognaise spaghetti – RM19

A Classic favourite made non- classic

Mighty Piggy Burger – RM26

A piece of juicy pork patty with melted cheese on top then serve a side with tomato, garden greens, fried egg, herbal mayo sauce and crispy chips are hard to resist. This is the current trend where pork burgers is used to attract pork lovers. For a start the patty here is thick and juicy. Made by a combination of cut and minced meat are simply awesome.

Piggies Rolling In Mud – RM25

This dish that resembles Japanese Curry rice are indeed inherited from that. It is the combination of crumbed pork cutlets and served on mild Japanese Curry.

Roast Pork Fried Rice – RM19

This fried rice is not the usual type which simply fried with eggs and pork sausages. This is done with fragrant Thai Basil, garlic and chilli. Each spoon coated with Thai minced Pork basil sauce that we usually eat separately with rice.  Instead of doing that, they put the rice on it and fried. It taste pretty good.

The restaurant also has a good range of coffees and tea leaves. I usually had a cup of coffee to end my dinner. Maybe that’s a habit of mine which I start and end my day with coffee.

Some like to have dessert instead.

This is their signature fried mars bar.

I can’t take chocolate at night. Coffee make me sleep well and chocolate wakes me up. But according to Taufu Lou this is good!

The overall experience here is more of like comfort dining with plenty of porky dish to choose from. Don’t ever think of the word healthy when eat here and you’ll enjoy it.
