The ambiance is very relaxing and comfortable. You can see the kitchen while you dine and also how your meat dumplings are prepared. Food quality are excellent. I have not tried the Midvalley branch yet as every time when I was there, it is full house. Their meat dumplings are on par with the Dragon-I’s and very very tasty.

Comment/Remark :
A Tai Thong group of restaurants. This restaurant is setup to promote chinese noodles for Tai Thong restaurants. Usually Tai Thong Restaurants are famous for its ala carte banquet style cuisine.
We went there in the group of 5 this round to test out the foods. Everyone of us ordered the Cincau White Coffee and all are very satisfied with it. I even had a second.
The first dish which we all tried are the Jiang Nan Fried Prawn Noodle. The gravy and the noodle goes along very well and the prawns are fresh with a reasonable size for the price paid. It also come with squids, century eggs and some mix vege. This dish is pretty good.
The kampung chicken rice and hong kong roast duck rice is not up to the expectation. The duck rice from RESTORAN SUNRISE ROAST DUCK taste better than their roast duck. The kampung chicken is way too plain to be eaten with white rice. The chicken is cooked and left it for quite some time and is getting dry. White chicken will only tasty if served hot. Same goes for the chicken marinated with chinese wine. By the time they serve it, it is cold. Taste wise is not bad if it is still hot as you can smell the chinese wine fragrant.
The chinese mix vege and seafood fried horfun is ok ok only. Nothing special about it and a bit pricey for that.
The Szechuan hot and sour soup is not bad. It is pretty spicy and the sour balance it pretty well.

Comment/Remark :
This place is pretty hard to find for first time visit. The shop looks like a normal old house which people stays. It is converted into 1/2 restaurant and 1/2 residence. This shop is very unique for a “Tai Chau” as you are open to suggest how you want to cook your food and the cook will try cook it your way. I brought my own canned pork ribs and cook it with cabbage. It is very tasty and not oily as the cabbage dry up the oil. The fish is deep fried and then mix with a special sauce which is a combination of raw garlics, lime juice, small chili and light soya sauce. The fish mustn’t be too big or too small for this way of cooking.
The standard house dish is the bean curd cook with salty vege soup and fremented beancurd fried chicken (Nam Yue Kai in cantonese). There are countless of combinations how you want to eat or you let the boss suggest you their dish. All are cooked home style and no MSG.
