Zhou’s Kitchen - ? (Zhou) is the family name of Andrew Tjioe, Tung Lok Group’s Founder and Executive Chairman and Zhou’s Kitchen is a welcome shift from the high end Tung Lok restaurant to a casual Chinese dining restaurant that caters to the palates and pockets of diners from all walks of life.

The décor is a mixed of Eastern influence of bamboos and jade and Western influence of clean and bright modern lighting.

Each table was served with delightful Prawn Crackers as we waited for our first dish - Young Sweet Potato Leaves Sautéed with Sambal Belachan. A straightforward dish that is a close substitute to Sambal Kang Kong, some might dislike the subtle bitter aftertaste. Service and food quality are up to those high class Chinese Fine Dining restaurants like Tai Thong and Oversea but at a cheaper price.

The branch out of Jalan Sultan’s Seng Kee Restaurant which famous and pioneer for claypot Lou Shee Fun. The restaurant owns by the same family and the taste are similiar with the original recipe. This restaurant serves more variety of dishes compared to the original Seng Kee’s. They serve rice and “Tai Chow” also besides the famous claypot lou shee fun and the wantan mee with fried garlic roast pork.

Remark:

A must try for the chilly pan mee although they said this restaurant is copying the Kin Kin Pan Mee in KL, they taste pretty good. Don’t put too much chilly at first try or you will smoke your ass later on. I felt that this restaurant’s chili is more fragrant than Kin Kin’s. Every bowl served are pretty consistent on the taste and serving time is pretty fast compared to Kin Kin’s which need to wait at least 1/2 an hour.

The decoration of the shop is good and service is good too. Food wise don’t try the main course like fried rice and mees. Go for their dim sum and side dishes especially the Loh Bak. All the foods are fresh prepared and not out from the fridge. The deserts of the day taste good too. They have different desert everyday.
