Today on 20th of Nov 2008, Food POI is proudly add in a new member into our team. Let me introduce Mr Envee Teo from Kuantan, Pahang.
During the daytime, he’s working as a professional car sales and turn into guest writer cum food tester of Food POI. He’ll be covering Kuantan and its surrounding area for nice foods which only locals will know. He claim that he can take spicy foods ! If really got chance that he come over to KL, I’ll definitely bring him over to Chili Pan Mee for a chili test ….. see how good is he in spicy foods … The last round I brought Gill Gill and Jason from Gourmet Gardens and made a double layer sausage on Jason’s Mouth.
So I hope he can bring us some good food recommendations from the east coast of Malaysia and again give him a warm welcome to the team.

The noodles are very springy feeling when you put into your mouth. Combine with the pickled chili, it is a heaven. The mee actually is called Wan Tan Mee by its normal look. This restaurant called it Bamboo Noodles as it is made by using bamboo. Usually they serve you the noodle without the pork lard. Go ahead and ask for it and definitely it will make you fly after eating together with the noodle. The pork lard fried fresh daily too.

Remark:
A must try for the chilly pan mee although they said this restaurant is copying the Kin Kin Pan Mee in KL, they taste pretty good. Don’t put too much chilly at first try or you will smoke your ass later on. I felt that this restaurant’s chili is more fragrant than Kin Kin’s. Every bowl served are pretty consistent on the taste and serving time is pretty fast compared to Kin Kin’s which need to wait at least 1/2 an hour.

Remark:
Put the more chili the better. The chili is what makes the whole bowl of curry mee tasty. In the picture there are no cockles and pig bloods because I don’t take them. You can ask for more if you love it.
Try go for the big ones (Big sometimes doesn’t mean add more mee. You can add more ingredients you want such as more squids, fish balls, fish cakes, prawns and whatever is available there)
