I constantly look for a good place for steak and most of the place were overrated most of the time. Expensive doesn’t mean it is good for me till I found Jake’s Charbroil Steaks House.

Located along the stretch of other famous restaurants like Victoria station and Seri Ayuthaya Thai restaurant, this restaurant is at the last lot of the stretch. The outlook doesn’t look as impressive compared the other 2 which has people open door for you and assisted till to your table. They just has a simple jockey parking service as the parking here is pretty limited.

The restaurant is located a stone throw away from Penang Municipal Office building which located at Esplanade where the Fort Cornwallis reside. If you pass by King Street, you will not see anything which will grab your attention. But when you step in, the feeling of back to the past will kick in. The Sire actually

From the picture above you can see there’s another door leading much deeper inside right? Beyond that area, we are not permitted to take photograph as all the items were antiques which showcased to public. I respect the rule here and do not shoot inside the showcase hall which you can see lots of stuffs from photos, personal items, furniture and etc which belong to Yeap’s family.

During my visit, we were seated in a VIP room which seldom opened for public use. On that day, I went there with my fellow bloggers from Penang Lingzie, CK, Jason and Gill and my personal friend SXE (Not SEX OK? )

The Sire in English term is used when addressing a “SIR” in UK. Same like we address a DATUK in Malaysia.This restaurant’s food is manage by the same management as Feringghi Garden which famous for Western Foods.

In this event, each of the chef were going to cook a main dish and inclusive of a dessert. All of us got the chance to taste the dish which created by all the candidates.

It is located just at the side of the escalator in the new wing and beside PUMA outlet. At first I thought it is just some kind of decorations by the shopping mall or a florist shop. So got one day while I try to kill some time, I just walk in and check it out with my friends who came here for food trip. This post will not have any food and mainly focus on its nice ambiance.

Cristian Cuturrufo and the Cuturrufo Jazz Band gave all Kuala Lumpur music lovers a taste of pure Chilean passion at SOULEed Out and 7atenine. I was invited thanks to Andrew who gave me this opportunity to be in 7atenine for the first time. Some more come with such a famous Chilean Jazz band which is my type of music.

Brought in to perform in Malaysia for the very first time with the support from the Embassy of Chile, the quintet enthralled the audience with their renditions of Latin Jazz and Jazz Funk, The band incorporated their signature beats to produce an interesting amalgamation of sounds that truly mesmerised the audience who found themselves dancing all night long.

Before we go further, lemme introduce a bit on 7atenine. This chill out place is under the roof of SOULed out management. Why I don’t call this place a restaurant is due to they emphasize more on the chill out area more than dining place.

Then before attending the event, I go and have my brunch in Papa John Pizza. The I stumbled on the huge logo which is very familiar to me. I was like OH MY GOD! Krispy Kreme is here! It is just next door to Papa John’s Pizza in Berjaya Time Square. Ground floor. Then I go near it and checkout when it is going to open. The renovation notice there said it will be completed by April 16, 2009. I guess this was the opening date? Hope it is. So there goes another big storm of doughnuts people go que up like in J.CO and Big Apple Donuts.

This time, it really proves me wrong! Never judge a book by its cover. This restaurant serves you a hell good of western foods. It makes you crave for more after you try them.

THE LOCATION AND RESTAURANT SETUP

You may not able to notice the shop at it is built slightly higher. You will first notice ONKING when you come straight from the Sri Selangor Golf Club. They are just a stone throw away. But with Adi’s (The Boss) idea, he made a very bright sign board at night. It glows very bright and very attractive and easy to spot. If you still can’t find it, as around where is the new Alliance Bank. They are a few doors away.

Cupcakes are getting more popular to replace occasion cakes. It looks much pretty and easy to serve to the guest. You can write what ever you want on the cup cakes. Let us see the baking of cupcakes.

All the cupcake muffins were baked with variety of flavors ranging from raisins, chocs and vanilla. Here, they emphasize a lot on the overall balance of the whole piece of cupcakes. The muffins need to be taste good and not too sweet so that the icing can merge in nicely.

At the price of RM2.50 allows you to choose the flavor of the cakes rather than just the topping like some others. The flavors that they carries is like orange, vanilla, chocolate fudge, cookies & cream, chocolate chip, well so on so forth, its not just a name, its the actual ingredient itself. You also can choose between “Fondant & Butter Cream frosting” for the cupcakes design/decor whenever you wish to order.

With that kind of combination, no more “oh the same flavor kinda cupcakes again” .. which most of the bakery practice the same cupcake that come with a different flavor frosting. They don’t use normal fresh cream or those plain icing which is pretty boring ….. For the meantime, they are trying out to bake the cupcakes by using butter cakes too.
