The Moon Bar Bukit Damansara Foods Are Good!

Bar hopping are kinda in thing recently. Many bars mushrooming in the city and started off by giving a cheap price on beers promotion. Food wise standard …. pizza, finger foods or at most pastas. I was introduce to this place by Cheng Yi to try this place out.

Like any other pubs, the setup are rather similar with high chairs and tables.

Now this is the interesting part. You see bar that serve alcohol is already non HALAL. So why you still go make it pork FREE? The Moon bar is different from others. Other bars serve pastas, pizza and french fries or kacang. Here you get otherwise. You get your all time favorite KL Local foods!

What attracts my attention the most is they are serving Klang Style Bak Kut Teh, Sucking Wild Boar Curry, Fried Hokkien Mee and Nasi Lemak!  There are some fine Sri Lankan foods too that are served here.

Apart from the normal bar setup, there’s a section where you can get to enjoy LIVE JAZZ show while chilling out here. The bar are having lots of activities for its regulars. There’s an event calendars where you can refer to on what is the upcoming events. Aside events, beer promos are stated and also themed night for for special shows. But one thing I can tell you every Friday is a Jazz night where our local renowned David Gomes Trio are in the house to sing for you. You’ll be mesmerise with his voice and the interactive part of his show. This is what we call Jazz! Not just sing yourself and syok yourself. Western Jazz gets the audience to blend in with their show like they talk and sing together.

Mojito to start the night. Aside from Mojito, basically you can order anything here as long as it is on the glass or bottles.

This one would be the finger food range by the Moon Bar. Out of all, the chicken wings definitely get my vote! It is so flavourful and crispy. The breaded fried mozzarella pretty special as there are a dippings for it. The crispy outside and soft inside plus dunking on the special sauce are a perfect combination. However I am not a lamb person and is not my cup of tea to comment much on the black pepper lamb parcels. The goat smell are quite strong which the lamb lover will love it. Pork belly and chicken skewer on the normal side.

Spicy Sri Lankan Tamarin Pork Belly & Mutton Varuval On Butter Briyani (MUST ORDER FOR SPICY LOVER)

This is not for the faint hearted. If you can’t take too spicy stuff, you can ask them to tone down the level of spiciness. Maybe I am a curry lover and I like this so much. From what I observe, only myself lick the plate clean. The rest got some left over as it is darn hot for them. Don’t look down on the portion. It is just right and each spoonful of the rice are filled with various herbs. Especially cloves. We pair it with Shiraz and it further made it more spicy! hahaha … becareful when you try this. It certainly smoke your head.

The House Special Fried Hokkien Mee with Pork Lards

This is the top favorite list by locals in their supper list. After clubbing, many people like to eat Hokkien Mee. It is fried with plenty of WOK HEI and plenty of fresh made lards. The oil used are the clean type unlike many in the city use recycle oil from their deep fryers.

Klang Style Bak Kut Teh

For bak kut teh, the oil rice companion is a must to have when eating Klang Bak Kut Teh. It may look smaller portion compared to the hawkers version.

Porky porky

Trust me. The portion are just right for supper. It is not too much nor too little. The amount of ribs, meats, belly, mushroom and vege are all in one. Just like a mini clay pot version.
