Cava Bangsar Featuring Wine & Dine with Craggy Range of Martinborough, New Zealand

It has been quite some time I last dine at Bangsar Area. The last time I dine there was to review the Hailam Kopitiam. Little that I know there’s another hidden bar located at Jalan Bangkong facing the prominent housing area.

Just take a look at that …. the ambiance gives you a warm feel with the lighting setups.

A wide range of wines on racks awaiting for you. Take a pick or checkout with the bar tender for recommendation.

But this round I was there to attend a wine appreciation with the APAC Manager, Mr Brent Hindman from Craggy Range of Martinborough, New Zealand Winery.

New addition from New Zealand into Malaysian Wine Market.

The range wines by Craggy Range. The wine are branded under 2 labels which the Wild Rock is the more easy to drink and Craggy Range come with more character on it. In short Craggy Range bottles are on the higher end side.

The Sauvignon Blanc 2011 Wild Rock, New Zealand wine greet us upon arrival. To my surprise it is very easy to drink for someone who doesn’t enjoy white wine like me. The wine from New Zealand do not need to be aged that much and the refreshing with a tinge of citrus flavor. The whole even is more of getting the wine on the table and chat through the night. We catch up with old friends and at the same time made new.

When there’s booze there are foods that come along with it.

Some salsa, garlic balsamic vinegar mix and breads for pre start.

Jeng jeng jeng …. The starter of the night come in a bag???? Let’s see what is inside.

Mushroom Cartaccio With Foie Gras consist of Button, Portobello and Enoki Mushrooms in White Wine, Herb.

Braised Oxtail with caramelized onion, roasted sweet potato and grilled asparagus paired with a glass of WILD ROCK GRAVEL PIT RED HAWKE’S BAY MERLOT MALBEC 2010

Mains – Setas De Pierna De Cordero & Grilled Prawn

Roasted lamb leg, stuffed with foie gras, pimento, mushroom served red wine pink peppercorn sauce and Tuscan beans and grilled butter King Prawn

Dessert Platter – Spanish Cheese Platter served with fresh & dry fruits, nuts, crackers & berry compote

Thanks again to Cheng Yi for the invite and it was a fun night with all of us gone home mabuks with a smile.
