Ginseng Fed Pigeon Feast At Guangzhou Pigeon Sanctuary
On my tour to Southern China early this year, this is my third day post where we landed in Guangzhou City. We were recommended to visit this place by famous celebrity chef and restauranteur Hugo Leong. This place house a small sanctuary where pigeons were breed in huge scale.
Besides a place to breed pigeons, this place also house a restaurant where you can feast on pigeons. Everything is cook with pigeon meats here. Be it soup or casual lunch.
They proudly print the whole photo where they took during the video shoot with Hugo.
The restaurant is built on the lake and when the time I was there, it is the end of winter time where the room temperature was dropping down to 2C in the afternoon.
A place for you to sit and look at the lake to rest your mind
Inside this jar must be something nasty. More of like a Chinese Home made tonic?
The main dining hall of the restaurant
One kind of turtle that can’t be found in south east asia
Kungfu Lou fish ….. which means Kungfu Fish …. this fish doesn’t know how to kungfu to me … if they did, they already jump out
This is one of fully grown white pigeons which famous in Hong Kong dead and deep fried called “YUE KAP”. I sound so evil huh …. but this bird isn’t the same as those. What makes them so different? It is the same concept like Wagyu beefs of Japan where they feed on different foods compared to normal cattle.
Here we got Ginseng Pigeon. The pigeon were fed on premium quality grain soaked on Ginseng tea.
