Chicken Brand Home Made Sarsi Drink From Kelantan

Last week when I visit my fellow photographer trainer at First Photography in Penang, they are kind enough to treat me a bottle of special sarsi drink. At first I thought they are holding a bottle of tamarind juice syrup which quite common to store in a small bottle.

It carries a chicken brand and it is 100% made in Malaysia, Kota Bahru Kelantan to be exact. Each bottle cost RM0.75 compared to F&N Sarsi which cost more than this. The bottle slightly smaller 285ml vs normal can of Sarsi which contain 325ml.

Taste wise, it is not that sweet. The sarsi taste still pretty strong but not as much gas as F&N’s. According to Kah Lee, the chef from Kafe Kofi King which house next to the First Photography, it can cure minor back pain. I gawk down a bottle of it and felt so refreshing especially the during the dry spell which hits the nation since last week during the CNY.

This can only be purchase in Kota Bahru, Kelantan like Pat Poh Peng only available in Penang island. It is widely available around mini marts or grocery stores. You can try your luck at local supermarket/hypermarket too to get this drink.
