Down in Penang Road and right in the middle of the T junction connecting Penang Road and Transfer Road, there’s an old Hainanese kopitiam.

Most of the people know that the western food there are famous. But actually to me something taste even much better which is the Koey Teow Th’ng (KTT) sold here.

Frankly speaking even though I am a Penangites, I dunno about this place. Shame on me ! =.=” I only knew about it when Jason and Gill [Gourmet Garden] invited me to see the process how they made the fish ball for the Koey Teow Th’ng.

A sinful bowl of home made fish ball and flatten minced meat “LOU SHU FUN”

There’s a reason why I choose to take “LOU SHU FUN” is because it doesn’t have any sour taste which came from the blanch water. You can see that some of the hawker which never change or top up their fresh water that are used to blanch the noodles. LOU SHU FUN won’t carry the sour taste from that water eventhough the hawker didn’t change it.

This stall always highlight the point that their fish balls and pork pattie were home made. But as you know, there are too many such statements made by the rest of the hawkers. Surprisingly they willing to show myself, Jason and Gill the process the made the fish ball. So we went there and have a look.

Nothing beats fresh and home made fish balls. The taukeh soh told me there are people ordered just 50 pcs of fish balls and eat it like that without the noodles.

I’ve tried the Hainanese Chicken chop there, costs just RM3.50! But gotta admit that the chicken skin is more than the flesh. But it was coated nicely with flour and fried to perfection, not getting overcooked. The gravy was nice too. Order 2 plates per person =)

  10. There are a lot of fish balls. You ordered extra or this is their normal serving?

My Taste Heavens last blog post..HaiNan Western Food @ Mount Erskine ?????????
