Comment/Remark :
When you approach the restaurant, you can feel that there are very strong business rivalry here between the Sri Paandis restaurant. Next to it on the left and right is Restoran Sri Paandi (PJ) which operate by the original former partner of Sri Paandi Brickfield. Each of their workers try hard to persuade you to eat in their restaurant.
The food here is a bit more simple compared to next door’s. The side lines is not as much as them but the taste definately better. The papadums served are fresh fried from the kitchen and you can still feel the heat. Curry wise is more diluted. But the taste is just nice. Service also is better due to their customer is not much. The shop owner or person in charge if never see you in their restaurant before, he will give you a bit of their chicken rendang or mutton rendang to try out on the house.

Comment/Remark :
After saw so many reviews on other peoples blog on this restaurant, I decided to give it a shot and try out their nasi kandar. The restaurant is pretty secluded from busy town area and situated in the middle of residential area. There are ample parking space.
We can see a lot people queing even from far when me and my coleaque walk towards the restaurant. Basically to test out nasi kandar, I usually ordered rice with beef and flood my place with curry. Usually in most of the nasi kandar stall, they will just ask you which rice you prefer then they scoop for you. Here they will immediately scoop for you the cabbage right after the white rice. Then only they will scoop for you the curry and other stuffs.
To be frank the gravy from the cabbage spoiled the curry taste because inside the cabbage there are bean sprouts. You can taste the over cook bean sprout taste and that covers the curry fragrance. The beef is too thick and not tender enough. The fried chicken also pretty normal and nothing special about the spice use to marinate it.

Comment/Remark :
A must to visit place for Japanese ramen lovers. Ajisen is very famous in Singapore and they have 10 restaurants through out the island. They even come up with Ajisen Membership Card which provide discounts up to 50% on ramen on certain days. In Malaysia, there are only one that is the 1Utama branch. The second restaurant is coming up soon and located in Sunway Pyramid. Ajisen is originate from Japan and Singapore is their distribution hub for their inventories. Ajisen is ranked no #1 ramen shop in Japan and Singapore.
The restaurant setup is pretty neat and relaxing. The place is good for bringing customer for having a discussion also. Coming to the food part, a MUST try ramen is the “nan-katsu ramen” which means tender pork ribs ramen. When you first slurp the soup into your mouth, you will definately feels this whole bowl of dish is a heaven ramen. The ramen is cooked to perfection without losing the bouncy feeling and the pork ribs are very soft. I like the pork ribs the most. There are fried garlics and chilis for you to add on if you like it spicy. According to the person in charge at this shop, most of the Japanese customers that came in to the shop usually will ask first whether there are still nan-katsu ramen available. If run out, they rather come back tomorrow for it.
For spicy ramen lovers, you should try their Volcano ramen. It comes with chilis on top and some pork meats covering the ramen. The sushi and sashimi is just pretty normal and you should try the fried lotus roots which is very crispy.

There seems to be a business rivalry which happens between the 2 stores which having the same name Sri Paandi side by side next to each other. The origine of Sri Paandi was from Brickfield with the name of Sri Paandi Sdn Bhd. Restoran Sri Paandi (PJ) was opened by the former partner from Brickfield. The one I am doing review is on the right with more customers. I want to check out what makes this restaurant so special till the crowd is much better than the original Sri Paandi of Brickfield.
So we went there in a group of 4 persons. Each of us having their standard banana leaf which comes with the complimentary set vegetables, fried potato chips, papadam, plenty of rice and a hardcore curry flood (Covers your rice with plenty of rice). We ordered some side dishes like squid curry, mutton curry and a piece of fried chicken.
The rice with the standard vegetarian doesn’t taste as good as the original Brickfield Sri Paandi. The curry is the one that kill the whole taste. The curry kinda tasteless. The squid curry and mutton curry also is being left a side and not warm when serve.
The best part is their fried chicken which will only be fried when order is placed. In short I still prefer the original Sri Paandi of Brickfield which open a branch next to this shop. Go to the left shop and not the right. Don’t let the crowd cheat you.

“Black Canyon (Thailand) Co. Ltd. was established in 1993 to operate restaurants serving food, coffee and drinks under the “Black Canyon Coffee” name. The company is the registered owner of the “Black Canyon” trademark and all associated service marks. The company’s business is the operation of coffee houses serving food and coffee of the highest quality, located in shopping centers, movie theaters and gas stations throughout Thailand, as well as an increasing number of overseas countries. Black Canyon owns and operates some branches directly, while others are owned and operated by franchisees. All branches are decorated to the same high standard, with overall designs selected from a palette of available options depending on the type of location. Black Canyon’s excellent reputation is based on serving coffees of the highest quality, with the best aroma and taste, made from 100% fresh coffee beans imported from around the world, as well as those grown in Thailand under Royal patronage.”During the visit with my coleaques, we wanted to try out something light for our dinner. So we ordered all of their sandwiches and try it out. With the average price of RM8.50 for a set of sandwiches, the portion are rather small. The fillings also is very little under the bread. All you can taste is the vegetables. At the same time we ordered a Thai Chicken Coconut Soup which we expect to be good and end up nothing special about it. The spring rolls also is from the normal supermarket frozen type. On the gourmet coffee part, the mexican coffee is a bit light. Not as strong as common starbucks and coffee beans ice latte. It is served in a nice shoe glass which is pretty cute. For dessert, I ordered for their Tin Roof Sundae which is a single scoop of vanilla ice cream served on a bed of chocolate topping and peanuts. In short a normal scoop of vanilla ice cream on melted chocolate at the bottom.

Comment/Remark :
Pizza Uno started as Pizza Italia in USJ in 1997. After 18 months, the 2nd outlet was opened in Kuala Lumpur. Now, there are total 3 outlets in Klang Valley ( USJ Taipan, Centrepoint Bandar Utama, Bandar Puteri Puchong).
The name Pizza Italia was changed to Pizza Uno as the new name was registered as a trade mark from year 2001 and will be easier for customers to recognize us.It was started as hobby but our concept of “Quality food at affordable Prices” caught on to make Pizza Uno (Pizza Italia) a popular family restaurant. We hope to continue to serve our customer as we did from day 1.
During my visit with my housemates, we tried a few dishes which is Meat Ball Pasta in Tomato Sauce, Mushroom soup, garlic bread, Fettucine (Home made fresh pasta) alla Carbonara (lightly fried beef bacon and onion in a delicious creamy sauce) and My Pizza (Customized pizza with 3 choices of fillings. I chose salami, pepperoni and smoked chicken). All taste fantastic. They were cooked to perfection and come with a reasonable portion. Not too much and not too little.
For beverage, we ordered iced chocolate and a cup of cappuccino. For the ice chocolate, you have to make the vanilla ice cream melt into the chocolate water before you start drink it. It taste like chocolate shake but this taste better and not too sweet. A recommended drink to order when you visit Pizza Uno. Is a little bit pricey on their beverage though. The ice chocolate cost RM8 per glass.

Comment/Remark :
This shop is endorsed by 8TV Ho Chak! Show. After looking at the video, I go and try it out. The fried chicken is superb. It is fresh by looking at the bone after you bite it. The chicken taste just nice and not salty. You can eat it like KFC without any other companion side dish or rice. Besides fried chicken, they have roast chicken also (Ayam percik). I didn’t try this as me and my friends just can’t stop eating the fried chicken and enjoying our nice glass of yao yao ping.
For yao yao ping we ordered sour plum, lychee and red beans. Their best selling is the mango, bubur cha cha and lychee. When we were there the other 2 sold out. So we choose other which taste equally good. A place recommended for high tea.

Comment/Remark :
A Singapore grown Italian restaurant franchise first open in Pavilion KL. It is something similiar to Pizza Hut in Malaysia. The pizza taste pretty normal and not enough cheese when I ordered it. So I sprinkle nearly the whole bottle of the cheese to my pizza. Same goes for the pasta which ordered by my friend. First time I taste a tasteless pasta in my life. They put too little sauce and the portions for the pasta are pretty small.
Environment wise, they clean their table pretty slow and the floor are not frequently swept.
